Founded by Jerry Firkus in 1971, Firkus Plumbing has long been a presence in the Bend community. The business, which started out of Jerry’s home, grew quickly, eventually moving to its current location, a humble office just off of Third Street. In the years since, the company has provided residential plumbing services to generations of Central Oregon residents and assisted in the construction of many local schools.

Following Jerry’s death in 2006, ownership of the company was passed on to Jake and Ed Firkus, Jerry’s son and brother. The business remained family owned until 2010, when it was bought out by a Salem-based plumbing company, Oregon Cascade Plumbing & Heating.

It was in this era that Ed’s son Jason Firkus began working for his family’s business. Under the larger company’s leadership, Jason felt pressured to narrow the business’ service offerings, an action that compromised his future goals and values. In 2020, after much consideration and planning, he made the decision to buy Firkus Plumbing back and restore its family owned status.

​

Now, with Jason at the helm and his son, wife, and brother, daughter, step-daughter and son-in-law working alongside him, the business’ future is brighter than ever. In the five years since buying Firkus Plumbing, he has worked tirelessly to strengthen his family’s legacy, reestablish himself as the premier service plumbing provider in Bend and diversify the company’s already impressive service repertoire.

We pretty much provide an A to Z plumbing service, from water heater installation, repair and replacement to clogged drains or leak repairs and gas piping, Firkus Plumbing offers it all. They also respond to plumbing emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These services are available to a wide swath of Central Oregon, including Bend, Redmond, Sunriver, Madras, La Pine, Black Butte Ranch and Sisters.
